Quickfire Rules:

After dealing the cards evenly among four players, each player bids either high (a black card) or low (a red card). One bid card is revealed at a time, starting from the left of the dealer. The player who places the first black card is considered to have 'granded', and the round is played in the "high" format where teams attempt to win as many tricks as possible. No other cards are turned over after the first black card. If all bid cards are red, the game is played in the "low" format where teams aim to win as few tricks as possible.

In a high bid round, the first trick is led by the player to the right of the player who granded. In a low bid round, the first trick is led by the player to the left of the dealer. Each player takes turns playing one card, following suit if possible. If they cannot follow suit, they can play any other card from their hand. The player who plays the highest card matching the suit of the led card wins the trick. The winner of each trick leads the next one.

At the end of each round, points are awarded based on the number of tricks each partnership has captured. In a high bid round, a point is given to the team that granded for every trick taken beyond six. If the team that granded fails to make seven tricks, the opposing team receives one or two points per trick taken over six, depending on the 'set bonus' setting. In a low bid round, a team receives one point per trick taken less than seven.
